The company frames football shirts, embroideries, tapestries, canvases, silk paintings, silk carpets, babygrows, dried flower corsages, medals, photos, postage stamps, original paintings, prints, limited editions, certificates, tiles, records, cds, mirrors, football programmes, posters, seashells, golf balls, wedding bouquets, just about anything! Why not pay Fish Frames a visit with your unusual item?
Fish Frames has a large variety of mountboard, moulding and glass in order to frame items appropriately and to give the customer as wide a choice as possible.
Lynn will always take time to help the customer choose the right colour of mount and appropriate moulding to make the best of their artwork or item to be framed, and to make sure it is framed to the correct level.
The choice of glass ranges from ordinary float glass through to conservation glass, which provides 98% ultra violet light protection, very important for those valuable or sentimental items. Look out also for Miroguard Plus glass - it looks like there is no glass there!
Restorations
If you have an old print or original which has been neglected over the years and has been attacked by acid in the surrounding materials, please bring it in to Fish Frames, as they have a team of expert restorers who bring prints, oils and frames back to their former glory. Here are some good examples of what can be done.
The Fine Art Trade Guild specifies Five Levels of Framing as follows:
| Minimum | provides a basic frame at minimum cost. |
| Budget | provides a visually acceptable frame at a budget price. Not recommended for any items of value. |
| Commended | for items of moderate value, offers a moderate level of protection for around five years in normal conditions. |
| Conservation | offers a high level of protection of artwork using conservation grade materials, with reversible techniques, for approximately 20 years in normal conditions. |
| Museum | the highest level of framing available, using the highest grade quality framing materials, for protection up to 35 years in normal conditions. |
