ART & FRAMING BUSINESS AWARDS 2010
The Fine Art Trade Guild provided the image to be framed, to celebrate their Centenary this year.
The bevel of the inner mount is hand painted in Russian watercolours, to pick out the colours in the print. Then a reverse bevel purple mount is used to create a ‘shadow’, then two more mounts with corner detailing. The Miroguard Plus glass has been etched and a gap left between it and the mount in order to create another shadow. The frame is hand-finished, plain wood covered in black gesso and then coloured with Daler Rowney shimmering colours and wax varnished.
Lynn MacAskill is also the London Regional Winner of the Guild Challenge Award, and runner-up in the Art Retailer of the Year Award.
